Main towns in Calvados with places of general interest, and the covering the wider area of Normandy.

Bayeux:- A "must see" visit the famous Tapestry and Cathedral. Also one of the most impressive British & Commonwealth War Memorials & Cemeteries in Normandy straddles the Bayeux peripherique, there is a typical French Market on Saturday and Wednesday.
Not far from Bayeux are the Normandy landing beaches; Arromanches with its Mulberry harbour, great views from the cliff tops, also a museum and circular cinema. All along this coastline it is steeped in history from the second world war with many interesting places to visit. Beautiful safe sandy beaches stretch for miles if you want to lay in the sun. Many good restaurants serving a variety of meals, seafood is excellent in this area.

Caen:- With its Abbey, gardens, shops, restaurants and markets, there is always something for everyone. Nearby at Carpiquet is "Festland", an amusement/adventure park for children.

Vire:- is a charming market town, a mixture of old and new achitechture. Nearby is The Valley de la Souleuvre where there is one of the worlds largest bungy jumps for those who dare, also an aerial slide, adventure park for adults and children and a Go Kart track.

Jurques:- A Zoological Park with an adventure playground and bouncy castle area.

Champrepus:- Another very popular Zoo, great for the children.

Mont St. Michel:- A legendary site on the Brittany coast that never fails to stir the imagination with it's splendid aura. Don't forget to bring your camera.
